How to Start Your First Stream on OneStream Live?

Starting your first stream on OneStream Live is straightforward, but the steps vary slightly depending on whether you want to go live immediately or schedule a pre-recorded video.

Easily connect your social accounts and choose your streaming method: pre-recorded, studio, RTMP, or a custom website to broadcast live to multiple platforms or your own page.

Connect Social Platform

Before you can stream, you must link your social media accounts with the platform.

  • From the OneStream Live dashboard, click Social Platforms.

  • Click Add Account.

  • Select the platform you want to connect to (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitch, etc.).

  • Authorize the account and click Connect.

Streaming Method

OneStream Live offers multiple ways to go live. Select the option that best fits your needs:

  • Pre-recorded Stream: Upload a video and schedule it to stream live.

  • Studio Livestream: Use the browser-based studio to stream live with guests, branding, and media sharing.

  • Encoder Streaming: Stream using external software or hardware encoders like OBS Studio, Zoom, or vMix.

Pre-recorded Stream

  • From your dashboard, click Pre-recorded Stream.

  • Upload your video content (from Device, Cloud, or OSL storage).

  • Select your social media destination(s).

  • Add the title, description, tags, and thumbnail.

  • Choose a specific time to schedule the stream.

  • Enter the desired date and time.

  • Enable the Announce Stream option.

  • Set the event announcement time.

  • Click Go Live or Schedule for later.

Pre recorded

Studio Livestream

  • From the dashboard, click Studio Livestream.

  • Allow access to your camera and microphone, or continue without them.

  • Enter your Name and Stream Title.

  • Select your Server Location and SFU Server.

  • Click Enter Studio.

  • Add Banners, Tickets, Media, or Branding.

  • Invite Guests if needed.

  • Select Screen Layout and Visual Effects.

  • Choose the Social Platforms where you want to stream.

  • Click Go Live or Schedule for later.

Encoder Streaming

  • From the dashboard, click Encoder streaming.

  • Select your Stream Key (Default or OSL Stream Key).

  • Add the Title, Description, and Tags.

  • Enable a Backup Key (optional).

  • Enable Chat if you want audience interaction.

  • Select the Social Platforms where you want to broadcast.

  • Copy the Server URL and Stream Key.

  • Paste them into your encoder software (e.g., OBS, vMix, Zoom).

  • Click Go Live or Schedule for later.
