Live stream video on Instagram

Before you begin

For Instagram, the video should be in Portrait mode. We recommend a 720p video in portrait mode, although 1080 will work too. For example, the IGTV portrait video dimensions can be 1080 x 1920 pixels and an aspect ratio of 9:16.

Instagram allows a maximum stream time of 4 hours per video.

Steps to configure Instagram

Go to OneStream dashboard and on the left sidebar click Accounts then select Add Accounts.

Click Instagram button.



You will be given two options to connect the Instagram account.

Method 1: Connect via Instafeed

Click on the option connect via Instafeed.

Enter Instagram Username.

Enter Instagram Password.

Check the I'm not a robot checkbox.





Click on Login after which Instagram account will be connected.

Method 2: Manual Configuration

Go to Instafeed:

Enter Instagram Username.

Enter Instagram Password.

Check I'm not a robot checkbox.

Click on Login.



Click Create New Broadcast.



Copy the stream key.



Go to the OneStream dashboard, click on the Accounts > Add Accounts option on the left sidebar and select Instagram from the list of social platforms.



Click on Configure Manually.



Fill in the details:

Enter Social Account Name.

Paste Instagram Stream Key.

Click on Connect to OneStream, your account will be connected.



You will need new Stream Key each time when using manual configuration method.

Now you can schedule a pre-recorded stream or go live in real-time using OneStream Studio or any Third-Party RTMP Source on this Instagram account and it will be live streamed to your followers on Instagram.



Keep in mind that you cannot see your stream from your profile or your live status on Instagram. To view your stream, log in to Instagram from a different account and view it in real-time as your followers would do. Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t allow you to see your live stream from the same account. Only followers can view the stream.
